Farm Mission Statement:
To improve the national fiber herd quality through our careful breeding program to support cost-effective and high-quality commercial alpaca garment production in the US.
Farm Description:
We incorporated Forte Farm in October 2006. We purchased a home with a barn and several acres and knew we wanted to raise some type of livestock to utilize our resources and enjoy a farming lifestyle. Our love of the needle arts led us to fiber-producing animals, and a chance meeting at a local fair with some cuddly, humming alpacas sold us on the idea of raising alpacas.
We have seen firsthand what the Studmaster program can do for the quality of our herd. We have offspring from Pachacuti, Artero, and Zegna, (all crossed with the Royal Fawn bloodline) and several animals with Hemingway bloodlines, and the fiber fineness and density speaks for itself. With micron counts in our herd starting at 14.9 microns, we believe this program has made a huge difference in the quality of our animals and we look forward to seeing what our Studmaster male and female offspring produce.
We don't plan to ever be a large farm, but we do believe that every breeding we select makes a difference to improving the national herd fleece quality. We are proud to be members of the Ideal Alpaca community. Come see for yourself what a difference the Studmaster program has made for our herd.
We look forward to your visit.
